Jamie R. Newman FRCPC, Honours BA Econ, CEO Vector Health Clinics
Dr. Jamie Newman is a fulltime Royal College trained Gastroenterologist at Trillium Health Partners,
where he serves as Chief of GI and Endoscopy at the Missisaauga site. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training at the University of Toronto and McMaster University. With a background in Economics, Dr. Newman is the co-founder of Vector Health Clinics and serves as its President and CEO. He is responsible for managing the corporation’s business operations.

Dr. Y.M. Markus is a Royal College accredited specialist in occupational and environmental medicine, with clinical expertise in addictions and tropical diseases. He is a medical graduate (MD) of the University of Toronto and holds a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPH&TM with honours) from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Markus is a Certified Medical Review Officer (CMRO) for drug testing in the workplace and has experience in medical surveillance, independent medical evaluations and industrial toxicology. He is currently an investigating coroner for the Province of Ontario in the Toronto Region. He is a co-founder of Vector Health Clinics and has been actively involved in treating opiate dependence in the workplace and in the clinical setting since 2009. Dr. Markus has earned the Certificate of Treatment for Opioid Dependence, and presently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Vector Health Clinics, where he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinic, managing staff, and recruiting and training physician associates.

Hanif Kassam MD MHSc. FRCPC, Director of Business Development
Dr. Hanif S. Kassam, Medical Director for Vector Health Clinics, obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from McMaster University in 1992.  He trained in Internal Medicine and Critical Care, after which he completed a Masters of Health Sciences degree (MHSc) in Community Health and Epidemiology from the University of Toronto in 1996.  He then went on to complete his fellowship in Community Medicine and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1998.  Since that time, Dr. Kassam has held various senior executive positions including Commissioner and Medical Officer of Health of Waterloo Region, Associate Medical Officer of Health in York Region and more recently, Medical Officer of Health in Peel Region.  Dr. Kassam has also worked for the Province of Ontario as the Physician Manager and Provincial Epidemiologist for Communicable Disease Control.  Since 2005, he began working full-time as an Investigating Coroner for the Province of Ontario and has completed over 6,000 sudden death investigations.  Dr. Kassam is fully trained as an addiction medicine physician and currently maintains a practice within Vector Health Clinics.
