The primary goal of hepatitis C treatment is to be cured of the hepatitis C virus. Other goals include: reduce and prevent damage to the liver, improve the patients quality of life, prevent the spread of Hep C to others
Note: People must be aware that there is no immunity against Hep C, nor a vaccine to prevent it. As such even those treated for Hep C can be re-infected.
All people with Hep C should be evaluated for treatment, regardless of their age, disease severity or other medical conditions
